The landscape of many biomes in Minecraft, to put it mildly, is not the best, although the developers constantly add some new territories. This also applies to water biomes. For example, the areas that border mountains or underground structures could be diversified somehow. And if you also don’t like the standard world generation in the game and would like to change it, you can pay attention to a separate mod that adds underground rivers. This is a completely new type of landscape in the game world, which connects caves and water biomes on the surface…

The Underground Rivers mod changes the generation of some biomes by connecting them with underground rivers. For example, you may have a high mountain, and next to it a water biome that smoothly flows underground. The player can easily dive into the water and end up in a cave without breaking a single block. This mechanic opens up a huge number of opportunities for all players and offers improved generation of the cubic world. If you would like to diversify the standard vanilla world, this mod must definitely be on the list. We added as many screenshots as possible with different examples, but on each map it looks completely different.

In the vanilla version of the game, there are locations that by default generate underground, but you can only get there if the player mined resources in caves and accidentally found some biome or structure (lush caves, dungeons, and much more). Now you can get into caves even easier, thanks to the generation of underground rivers that connect several different types of landscapes. For example, you may have a lake, and beneath it underground rivers leading to caves or any other locations. Small mountains with cliffs or entrances can also appear, next to which lakes and rivers generate. And they go deeper into this structure, allowing the player to swim along the cliff and then dive underwater to end up inside the cave.

Features of Underground Rivers:

· Realistic generation. All underground rivers that appear here correspond to the real terrain, and the developer of this mod created the entire functionality from scratch, although the idea was taken from the Tectonic mod, which does not work with vanilla generation;

· Vanilla biome support. The system automatically integrates underground rivers and connects them with different types of caves and structures from vanilla Minecraft. For example, lush caves, dungeons, and many other locations;

· Support for other mods. To make the game world look even cooler, support was added for many large biome-related mods. Now underground rivers will also appear in them, for example, Biomes O Plenty, Nature's Spirit, Terralith, and others;

· Creating unique maps. Using this mod, any player can create a beautiful and realistic map if they need to take into account the vanilla world terrain and connect surface and underground locations together;

· Many different variations. A unique generation system is used here, which has many variations, wide entrances, supports different mods and biomes. As a result, every Minecraft map looks different, even if you regenerate it with the same SEED;

· Boat traveling. If before the player could only cross water biomes, now they can sail into a cave on a boat and enjoy the scenery, explore locations, and simply have fun. And if you also install some high-quality shaders, the picture will transform even more;

· Safety. When the player moves, for example, by boat in the underground world using structures from the Underground Rivers mod, they can quickly swim underwater or by boat if hostile mobs are present in some location.

The appearance of all underground rivers is as realistic and attractive as possible. However, do not forget that all beauty also depends on the biomes with which the water structures are connected. When generating a new map, the mod will automatically add special settings for creating underground rivers and connecting them with various structures. In this material, we added more screenshots, but it is difficult to convey the whole atmosphere of the game, and it is better for you to download the mod into your build and try to play with it yourself to feel all the beauty of such generation. Be sure to add shaders and dynamic lighting, and then traveling through water areas in caves by boat will be extremely surprising and unusual.

In conclusion, we can say that the mod deserves attention, both in the vanilla world and in other biomes, if you have many third-party add-ons installed that add different locations, structures, dimensions. At the moment, the Underground Rivers mod does not support many large expansions, but some are already on the list, and underground rivers will also generate in them automatically. If you already created a map, you will have to recreate it with the same SEED in the settings for the rivers to appear.
