In Minecraft, players have access to a large number of various structures, each offering new loot, exciting adventures, battles with mobs, constant exploration, and dangerous situations. But there are some locations in the vanilla version of the game that do not stand out in any particular way. For example, shipwrecks. As a structure, they are uninteresting and unimpressive, and players mostly come across them only by accident—when spotting the location while traveling across an ocean biome or while flying with elytra. You can change the appearance of this structure by using a separate mod!

The Revamped Shipwrecks modification reworks the appearance of shipwrecks in Minecraft, adding more variety and random generation. Now they can spawn in different variations, but the whole structure is divided into three parts, and some of them appear in the water. For example, you may see an almost complete ship or only part of the stern, or some separate pieces. Abandoned structures will look different, so if you would like to slightly change the game world, this mod will help you do that. Look at the screenshots to see how the new structures will look and be sure to try playing with the mod, using all the advantages of this expansion.

In a shipwreck, players can find additional types of loot that can help in survival, especially at the beginning. However, in normal gameplay, players didn’t often use these opportunities because the structure itself looked modest and wasn’t visually appealing. To fix this situation, you can install the addon described in this material. With its help, the appearance of ships will change, and they will generate in a slightly different way. For example, now by default each vessel is divided into three parts, and during world generation, one of these structures is selected randomly to appear in the ocean biome.

Shipwreck pieces now generate not only horizontally but also vertically. In the game world, you may encounter such structures in almost any orientation, as many random shapes are available by default. In some cases, the ship will be completely underwater, broken into many pieces. In this situation, players will have to search for loot in each part of the vessel to get some reward. Usually, this requires the “Water Breathing” effect, as the player will need to dive to great depths. At the start of survival, such enchantments are difficult to obtain, so this task is not the easiest one for players.

In ocean biomes, ships will generate in different shapes—for example, nearly whole ships, ships flipped onto their sides, completely destroyed vessels, and they may be made from oak, acacia, or other types of wood. This adds more variety to the game world and positively affects gameplay overall. And if previously shipwrecks seemed ordinary and unremarkable to you, after installing Revamped Shipwrecks you will see them differently. It’s a great opportunity to refresh one of the vanilla structures in the game—at least one of the least popular ones. They look very cool visually, and now players will have more motivation to visit such places to obtain rewards.

The loot in ruined ships does not change: it remains fully vanilla, although you can install separate mods to change loot tables if you want. However, the placement of chests will change. For example, they may be randomly scattered around different corners of the ship, on the ocean floor, or in other parts of the structure you are exploring. This system works randomly, so you never know exactly where the chests with loot will be. Players are advised to bring “Night Vision” potions just in case, to see better underwater if they have to dive.

As you can see, the capabilities of the Revamped Shipwrecks mod are not very extensive, but even this is enough to significantly change one of the vanilla structures in Minecraft. And if ruined ships were not very popular before, now players will visit them more often, especially on servers with thousands of players online. For server owners, this is additional motivation to add extra functionality to engage users and encourage them to explore ocean locations and biomes more actively. In the screenshots, you can see how shipwrecks look now and how much they have changed, especially when made from different types of wood. And this also becomes an additional opportunity to gather wood of specific types if you lack it or simply don’t have any with you to craft certain items.
