Expanding the Underwater World in Minecraft

The possibilities of Minecraft offer different mechanics for survival. You can simply mine ores, fight mobs, go fishing, build houses, become a real farmer, and this is only a small list of possibilities even for the vanilla mode. But some players prefer to collect and breed axolotls, observe the underwater world, build interesting structures here like from «SpongeBob», so interest in such locations also exists. And if you would like to expand the underwater world and add more different mobs you can interact with, then it’s the right time to check out our review…

The Rainbow Reef modification adds several dozen new reef fish to the game, which you can catch and put into a bucket, to later trade with other players or simply use as meat for preparing various dishes. Added about 80 «underwater entities», including small and large fish, crabs, fry, and many other interesting creatures. With just a couple of clicks they diversify all kinds of water biomes, and overall will change survival in the vanilla version of the game. Also new types of decorative blocks are added (mainly coral), many new types of dishes appear that give different effects, and all this variety expands with each update.

In this add-on mainly such types of fish and entities are added that exist in real life, and almost all of them will be familiar to you. These can be clownfish, small sharks, crabs, jellyfish, and many other options. Compared to global add-ons, this mod has very few downloads, but enough content to compete and offer a large list of possibilities and innovations for players. We tried to add for you more screenshots of the underwater world, but to explore all added mobs and various structures, new blocks, it will take dozens or even hundreds of hours. You just need to download this add-on and try to play with this content yourself.

Features of the Rainbow Reef mod:

· Huge selection of new fish. In total about 80 different inhabitants are added to the sea oceans, and this includes not only fish but also crabs and many other options. All are maximally detailed, have pleasant textures, unique loot used as ingredients for cooking dishes;

· Interactive aquariums. The developer added for you a separate category of items – aquariums, with which you can catch fish in the ocean and create beautiful interiors in your home, where sea creatures will swim;

· New types of dishes. From sea creatures you can cook dozens of different types of dishes, and all of them have different effects. This is another reason to settle near a water biome and fish there. We posted several crafting recipes for you in this material, however, there are several times more of them;

· Rare treasures. If you find rare fish, you can get valuable treasures that drop from these creatures or can be obtained by selling to collectors (on multiplayer Minecraft servers players will collect different fish because they have rarity);

· Wonderful landscapes and marine life. Diving underwater, the player will see a flock of playful parrotfish swimming past or how «rays» float in the endless oceans. This is a completely different atmosphere that draws you in;

· Decorative blocks. Here you can find many new blocks, most of which relate to corals. They will be of different types, and overall look good both underwater and on land. New options for creating colorful buildings or decorating interiors;

· Changes for water biomes. If earlier in the vanilla version of the game even after updates most water biomes were a little «empty», then after installing the Rainbow Reef add-on they will be «teeming» with different creatures;

· Fishing. You can use a fishing rod to catch some types of fish in water biomes or dive underwater with a bucket to get a rare specimen that can later be sold or traded;

· Creative mode. If you don’t have the opportunity or time to explore all the innovations, you can in creative mode or through JEI get spawn eggs for any types of fish, coral blocks, certain rare specimens in buckets, view recipes and effects from ready dishes and much more.

The mod offers a great abundance of content and updates for water biomes, and it is one of the few projects that constantly expands, offers something truly unique, interesting, exciting. Players will have to catch new types of fish, create different types of dishes, build aquariums, share loot, create full-fledged farms underwater, collect rare specimens, and just enjoy the look underwater. If you like such an atmosphere, then this mod must definitely be in your build. Available exclusively on the Forge loader base, so you will need to install additional tools for Fabric support or build an assembly on this loader.
