Mobiomes is a large-scale and continuously updated mod. Its main goal is to fill the vanilla world with a variety of mobs and biomes — from simple forest creatures inspired by real life to fantastic monsters from myths. Each mob drops unique items of varying rarity. Moreover, the chance to get rare items increases with the number of kills. All added mobs inhabit their natural biomes, distributed realistically and evenly throughout the world.

Biomes

When first appearing in the player’s inventory, a special bestiary describes the added mobs and biomes. It shows drop chances for different items, mob stats, and commands to locate biomes. The book also helps with navigation and guides you by indicating the presence or absence of mobs nearby. Mobiomes adds 5 new biomes, 9 structures, and 4 types of plants. Some are atmospheric, while others are quite strange and surprising.

For example, in the Lava Forest everything is burning. The biome’s landscape is cut by lava streams and lakes. The sky darkens to a crimson shade, while the grass and leaves turn blood-red. This is an extremely dangerous place inhabited by magma slimes and ancient fiery ifrits.

The Druid Forest is filled with lush plants and living trees. One of the mod’s most vibrant and rich biomes. The sky has a greenish tint, and the trees have colorful leaves and branches. The forest is home to hostile ents who fiercely defend their territory.

In the Landscape of Time biome, everything consists of clocks. The ground, trees, and leaves are made from different types of clocks, which can be collected for decorating your home. Living clocks reside here, making a characteristic rusty metal sound. They also drop decorative clocks. All added biomes include:

Armor

The mod adds 6 new types of armor and 2 shields. These items drop with a small chance from the new mobs and each has unique properties. For example, the Medusa Gorgon’s head turns all creatures to stone and provides 6 defense points. The Amon Ra Barrier protects the wearer from both ranged and melee damage, granting 7 defense points and 2 toughness. Its counterpart drops a cloak and boots, making wolves your allies in battle and stopping werewolves from attacking you, as they recognize you as one of their own.

The Ice Worm drops a helmet that allows underwater breathing. The Basilisk drops “Revelation Glasses,” which show enemy health bars. The White-headed Gryphon’s wings grant flight like in creative mode. Armor can also be obtained for mounts. Druids drop a special hat to put on a giant snail, enabling you to ride it and slightly increasing its speed. The giant drops a large shield.

Weapons and Food

15 new weapons are also dropped by mobs or found in chests. Like the armor, each weapon has its own feature. Some deal massive damage but lack durability and special effects, while others have unique abilities but deal little damage. The mod adds 8 new food items—some restore hunger and provide positive effects, while others poison and cause damage.

Mobs

Mobiomes adds about 54 new creatures, each inhabiting its natural biome. Besides weapons and armor, mobs drop other useful items that ease world exploration. For players seeking tougher challenges, the mod also adds several new bosses.

Blocks

All new biomes consist of new blocks that can be used for your own construction. Most mobs also drop decorative blocks — from shells and vending machines to statues and humanoids.

Updates and Compatibility

Mobiomes regularly receives updates that add more content and optimize performance. The mod no longer requires Geckolib installation and smoothly syncs with servers. Mobiomes has no conflicts with other mods, making it easy to include in any modpack.
