Review Impillagers

Major Changes for Swamps in Minecraft

Not many players visit swamps in Minecraft, as by default there’s too small a variety of blocks, creatures, and overall interesting gameplay. This biome is usually needed only if a player wants to find a witch hut or go out at night to collect slime from mobs. And that’s fair, since the developers rarely update swamps. That’s why the fan community creates third-party mods that significantly diversify this biome. If you want to change the vanilla swamps and gain more opportunities, we recommend taking a closer look at the mod described in this article.

The Impillagers modification makes many changes to swamps, adding lots of unique blocks, mobs, changing biome generation, mud blocks, and wooden sets of different materials. There will also be various entities that allow trading. As a result, players will have more motivation to visit such locations, especially on multiplayer servers. This mod covers a huge amount of content, and to help you better understand its main advantages, we’ve highlighted and shown all the key features and innovations of this add-on.

Swamp biomes have undergone serious changes, though visually they still retain the same vanilla mysterious atmosphere full of secrets, mysticism, and slime. In short, this mod offers the following updates and changes:

· The swamp biome has been completely reworked;

· The list of blocks generated in this biome has been expanded (wood sets, raw bricks, clay brick masonry sets);

· Added sets of blocks for manure;

· A new type of golem has been added, called the “Manure Golem”;

· New enchantments;

· A wide variety of new items and many other features.

Vegetation

Swamps have become much larger and can now occupy extensive areas. Their color slightly differs from other biomes, making them stand out. There is now a variety of vegetation that wasn’t present in the vanilla game. For example, you’ll find purple-heart trees. These are large, massive plants slightly bigger than a standard oak, and you can harvest vines from them. Players will now be able to collect such plants in different places.

Quicksand Mud – another interesting block and a new biome element where both mobs and players can get stuck. If you step on it, you’ll simply sink and start drowning. To avoid getting stuck in the swamp, it’s recommended to wear leather boots, or you may find yourself trapped for a while. There will also be glowbug bushes, belladonna (a unique flower that can be used to obtain purple dye but is poisonous and damages anyone who touches it). Reeds will now appear in swamps, but they are only used for crafting brown dyes in Minecraft.

New Blocks

Players will now have more motivation to visit swamps because many interesting blocks now spawn and generate there. For example, you’ll find expanded mud sets that include stairs, slabs, walls, and more. The base material for these blocks can be found in this biome, and other variants can be crafted or smelted. They look great, even though they’re essentially just mud.

The game also adds “manure” – another universal block that can be used to create many interesting variants (walls, pillars, stairs, and much more). It looks similar to mud but is slightly darker. We’ve included several screenshots so you can appreciate all the details of these materials. Players now have more options for building, even though in swamps these are relatively primitive and cheap sources of blocks.

Don’t forget about the wooden set “Purple Heart.” This is wood harvested from the new tree, featuring a purple shade. By collecting this new type of block, you can craft boats, trapdoors, fences, planks, slabs, and many other items familiar from the vanilla version of Minecraft! The wood looks very beautiful. On multiplayer servers, this material will likely attract a lot of attention, as swamps don’t generate very often in the game world.

New Mobs

What would a mod be without new mobs? This is one of the most interesting gameplay mechanics in Impillagers. Several new creatures appear here, and here’s a brief description of each. First, you need to know about several neutral mob professions:

Impillagers. These are standard NPCs (like regular unemployed villagers) who live in their own village. These structures generate separately in the world, and you can find them if you wish. If you give them a work tool, they transform into one of the working professions described below.

Manure Collector. These mobs walk around the swamp collecting manure, which they later smelt into other types of blocks. They use a trash can as their work tool. Manure is collected from animals. This neutral NPC behaves similarly to a regular peaceful villager.

Banker. You can trade with these creatures, using gold as the main currency. They can offer many interesting materials and blocks. They also have a work tool – a shelter where various resources are stored. You can open it by sneaking and right-clicking on the container.

Musician. These creatures play various melodies, and their talent is truly mesmerizing. Their work tool is a music box. It’s fun, and if you bring such a mob to your territory, you’ll have your own musician.

Manure Golems. You can create this mob manually by combining a manure block and a carved pumpkin. They will help in battles, can shoot manure, and you can collect manure from them as well.

New Structures

The main feature of the Impillagers mod is the various structures that appear in Minecraft. For example, you can find swamp ruins, frog temples, small village houses spawning in new locations, musician huts, and even an explosives expert’s house (entering such a building may trigger an explosion). Most of these structures are built from roughly the same materials but look quite nice.

Inside each house, you can find new materials, blocks, or some valuable items, but don’t expect extravagant rewards — the loot is about the same as in regular villages. The main motivation for players is the ability to trade with new NPCs, create additional settlements, and manually assign professions to each villager. It’s an interesting mechanic, though familiar to everyone.

In conclusion, the Impillagers add-on makes swamp biomes much more diverse and attracts many players thanks to the addition of new blocks and various structures. The developer of this mod constantly updates and tweaks the project, adding many unique features. The list of available structures keeps expanding, new mobs and professions appear, and much more. Explore the familiar biomes and gain access to all this new content.
