The undead category in Minecraft spawns in almost all biomes of the overworld, allowing players to get loot, participate in various battles, create full-fledged mob farms for drops and experience. But over time, this small variety becomes boring, since thousands of different mods have been created, and you want to somehow expand the boundaries of vanilla survival, add new creatures to participate in massive battles, confront different mobs, study their behavior and characteristics, and enjoy their appearance. Familiar situation, isn’t it? And today you can add one proven mod that brings several new zombies to the game!

The Hominid modification expands the standard zombie list in the game by adding 6 new variants. However, not only new undead mobs will appear, but also skeletons. This is not a global mod, and you don’t have to spend dozens of hours studying each creature. It’s a well-thought-out, balanced expansion that lets you slightly diversify the game world and fight new creatures. It’s suitable for both single survival and any server if you want to add a few more mobs to the world and improve users’ gameplay. In this material, we looked at the features of each creature that appears in this add-on so you can understand their advantages and disadvantages.

After installing the add-on, several new monsters are added to the game. They spawn in various biomes, have different rarity levels, behavior, and characteristics. These are not just copy-paste mobs with different textures: each creature is carefully designed and behaves differently. You will see honey zombies, fire zombies, hungry skeletons, juggernauts, petrified zombies, and vampires. They will be randomly scattered across the biomes, but each has different spawn locations. Accordingly, they also differ in rarity. To help you better understand the differences between them, we’ll look at each one separately.

Honey zombies were covered with honey, so they are well “preserved,” and although considered dead by default, they did not decompose. They hate bees, and bees may attack them. If a character is nearby, they can apply the “Honey” effect, restoring health to nearby players and removing any negative effects. By default, they do not attack anyone and may follow you if you have a bottle of honey. They spawn mainly in forest biomes (birch and flower forests, cherry groves).

Visually, the mob looks cool: completely yellow, a bright shade, and even from dozens of chunks away you will see it both day and night. A player can use spawn eggs if they want to summon this mob to test its abilities or just see what it looks like. For this, use creative mode or the JEI mod.

This is already a dangerous mob in Minecraft, carrying a canister and gasoline. As soon as it sees an enemy, it ignites itself and runs toward them to deal as much damage as possible. At the same time, it also attacks you, draining HP from the character. Visually, it is very well designed, and even its animation deserves attention, so you definitely need to download this mod to test them all.

Fire zombies spawn in hills and taiga biomes, and they are designed to cause fires in the game. Be careful with these mobs, as they can easily “burn down” all your buildings if they are mostly made of wood. Very dangerous if they appear near a village and see players there. Fire spreads from them, burning everything around.

Hungry skeletons spawn mainly in biomes with almost no vegetation or food, so at the sight of any animals, they immediately run toward them to “eat” them. If you face such a creature with a pet, it will likely run to kill and eat your pet first. Be careful, or you may lose your “friend” while watching the mob. They also chase a player holding meat. In a way, you can lure hungry skeletons like this.

You can find hungry skeletons in badlands, snowy slopes, and caves, but in limited numbers. Visually, the mob is unusual, and its behavior is fun for vanilla Minecraft, but it’s really a dangerous creature. Like the previous ones, it can be spawned with a spawn egg. If you have a pet with you, it will “eat” it immediately.

The Juggernaut is one of the strongest mobs in the Hominid add-on. It has huge strength and tough armor, so it can easily throw players around with its bare hands. You can only win against these creatures by relying on speed (deal damage and retreat, deal damage and change position). So, this mob is somewhat clumsy, but its blows take a huge amount of HP from the character. Juggernaut armor reflects any projectiles. It spawns in various biomes but rarely replaces regular zombies. Therefore, you won’t encounter it very often in the world.

A hostile creature that can throw certain types of blocks at players, dealing damage. Visually looks interesting, and fossils are its signature “card,” since the drop from it can later be used for armor that resembles skeletal remains. Spawns in swamps, caves, deserts, and forest biomes. Not a rare mob, so you will encounter it often. It’s better to attack from a distance so as not to get hit by petrified remains on your “back.”

Vampires in this mod are neutral mobs by default. They rise from their graves at night to find a new victim and drink their blood. Despite their “neutrality,” they can attack players, and you will be warned in advance that a vampire is nearby. The “Paranoia” effect will appear, signaling that this mob is in your field of vision. They make various sounds, creating a tense atmosphere in the game. By default, they live in dark forests, and if they see a player nearby, they will watch them until you hit them. Once your character damages a vampire, it begins to attack.

Vampires have little HP, and if they come into the “light,” they almost immediately burn, just like regular zombies. But at night, they are real hunters, tracking their victims. Don’t touch them to avoid extra damage from such a creature.

The list of available mobs is constantly expanding, and this is one of the few add-ons in Minecraft that lets you add various creatures without having to spend long hours studying each one’s characteristics. Here we told you about all the available entities at the time of writing, and they are quite balanced, have nice textures, interesting behavior, and colorful animations. If you want to expand the list of mobs in the game, this mod should be installed among the first to evaluate all possibilities and try something new.
