New Types of Weapons in Minecraft

Which weapon do you like most in the vanilla version? After all, the choice is small: crossbows, bows, and swords. For long distance, the first two are suitable, and if you need to fight in close combat, a sword will do. And if this arsenal is not enough for you, you can install separate mods that significantly expand the list of weapons. In this material, we will talk about an interesting expansion that adds primitive firearms (around the 17th–18th centuries) to the game, which fit perfectly into the vanilla survival gameplay. Ready to try?

The Flint'N'Powder mod integrates a wide variety of new weapons into the game, and you will have to craft them from standard ingredients, with the whole process being as close to reality as possible: gunpowder, flint, and many other materials. You will need to reload the weapon to fire, and additional tools will be required for this. Various types of workbenches for weapon repair, new mobs, a large number of additional enchantments, and other content are added, although overall it is a relatively small mod. Now you will have more variety in creating weapons to use not only against mobs but also against players.

The game will feature different weapons, both primitive and more modern, crafted from available ingredients in vanilla survival. However, in general, players will have to spend a lot of time getting used to this mechanic. For example, you will have certain types of weapons that need to be loaded with a bullet, gunpowder poured in, all pushed down with a special ramrod, and only then fired by striking flint. Basically, just like in real life at the time. But while you’re firing, a mob could easily kill you. This mod also adds more modern weapons that reload faster, don’t require the entire mechanic, and such items are much more expensive to craft.

Weapons

The Flint’n’Powder mod adds weapons of various types, from primitive to semi-automatic. The better the item, the more expensive its crafting, and for players at the start of survival, it will be an unaffordable luxury. More expensive weapons reload with one button, and all you need are crafting recipes and bullets. Handcrafted firearms are added, similar to fuses lit with flint and steel, as well as a new type of dynamite. Players will be able to use more than 10 new shooting items, and it is best to view detailed recipes for them through JEI.

Each weapon has its own reloading principle, so you can use a special book that comes with this add-on to view all recipes and detailed information. For example, the new type of dynamite may explode chaotically, which can be a small problem for players. However, such innovations make the gameplay more interesting and allow you to diversify standard survival in Minecraft.

New Types of Enchantments

To improve weapons and the whole combat system, various types of enchantments are added here to encourage players to use the enchantment table more often and apply new types of effects. They greatly “boost” many aspects:

· Quality Gunpowder – you can increase the speed of a bullet shot, but this mechanic only works for single-bullet weapons;

· Shot – shotguns can be improved if you get this effect. In this case, more pellets will be released per shot (about 33% more);

· Spectral Capacity – increases the magazine capacity for storing bullets. Each level adds 25%;

· Fast Descent – weapon reload time will be reduced by 25% for each level after a shot;

· Quick Reload – another enchantment that affects the overall speed of reloading bullets (magazine change, loading bullets, adding gunpowder);

· Ramrod Mastery – when using this effect, the ramrod loading process will be a bit faster.

You can apply all these enchantments using the table, spending the usual experience points and books. An interesting mechanic for vanilla Minecraft, allowing you to diversify gameplay and get many useful options. Each has a certain number of levels, so in some cases you can get a very good boost.

New Mobs

In addition to weapons, there will also be new mobs spawning in the game world. They are called “cultists” and look somewhat similar to each other. A total of 3 new creatures are added.

· Cultists – the simplest group of mobs that spawn in the world. Usually appear in groups of 3–5, armed with primitive weapons. They can appear in caves, lush caves;

· Veteran Cultists – patrol various areas in the game world, shoot players with ranged weapons, and immediately leave their position. They can spawn in very small groups;

· Berserker Cultists – the most powerful mobs in the Flint’n’Powder add-on, which can spawn in almost all biomes. They have increased health, a giant bayonet, and if they get close to players, they can deal great damage.

This mod also adds a repair kit, which allows you to repair any weapon in Minecraft. You simply put the required item in one hand, the kit in the other, and repair it. The new mechanic covers all the main game processes (combat, weapon reloading, enchanting, and much more), so this mod can be used both in single-player survival and on multiplayer servers if you want to diversify players’ gameplay.
