By default, in vanilla Minecraft, flaming arrows do not cause any damage to buildings—even if a player shoots a wooden structure, like a villager’s house. The Fire Arrows Ignite Fire mod allows fire to spread and burn buildings or any other blocks when a player shoots a flaming arrow. For example, you shoot at a building made of wool or wood. Whereas in vanilla Minecraft nothing would happen, with this mod installed you can literally "burn down" a building within minutes or cause massive damage. This changes the gameplay significantly, as players can destroy each other's property, set fire to areas with flaming arrows, organize large-scale battles, and more. Flaming arrows are often used by players to damage mobs or other players in combat. This is especially useful for server owners to prevent burning important blocks.

Players now have more motivation to enchant their bows with fire and carry flaming arrows regularly since they can cause extra damage to buildings. You will see realistic fire effects in any biome, in the Overworld and other dimensions. Just be careful, as this mod can easily burn down entire forests or villages if the fire is not extinguished in time. Fire spreads quickly from block to block, and a barrage of arrows can destroy everything in its path through a chain reaction.
