To create such items, you will need the regular wings, netherite, and wool of different colors. You can roughly guess by color which one is used.

The only component that changes is the one determining the textures. For example, a red wool block, black, and so on. This mechanic allows you to choose different wing types depending on your mood or available blocks. However, the crafting process itself is now a bit more expensive: players will need to spend a bit of netherite scrap to create new designs. Visually, they are very different from the base variant, and in our opinion, they are worth it.

Even in preview mode, when the elytra are in your inventory, the item looks very cool. It’s a great option for multiplayer servers if you want to diversify the list of available items and allow crafting of new wing types. This is one of the most popular mods in this category, offering rich functionality for all players. The only downside is that it doesn’t update very often, and at the time of writing, it was mainly available for a single game version based on the Forge loader. However, that didn’t stop it from gaining over 250,000 downloads.

In terms of external textures, this mod outperforms many other add-ons in this niche because all textures are of the highest quality and come in different sizes. Depending on your preference, you can choose elytra not only by color but also by size. However, to evaluate their appearance, you will first need to craft them all or take them from creative mode using JEI and similar tools. In the comments, you can write which wing variant you liked the most and why. If you have the ability to install shaders, be sure to do so: in that case, the visuals will improve dramatically, and your character’s appearance will look even cooler.

Overall, it can be concluded that this mod is among the top for changing the appearance of elytra, despite the limitations of the available Minecraft versions. Simple crafting, affordable recipe, wide range of designs, pleasant textures, and various sizes. What more do you need for comfortable gameplay?
