What items do you use in the game to store your resources? For example, some players are fine with just chests and barrels, but most players — usually within the first few days of survival in Minecraft — need shulker boxes and Ender Chests, since they make storage much easier and help protect valuable items in critical situations, like battles or lava falls in the Nether. Special mods have been created for this type of player, expanding storage options. With them, you can now craft several new useful items for keeping your loot safe. Ready to try something new?

The modification Ender Storage 1.8.+ is an unofficial continuation of the original Ender Storage mod, which stopped being updated after version 1.7. That’s why it’s now released with the “1.8+” label, though online it’s often referred to simply by name. It adds three new items to the game for storing materials, items, and even liquids. This variety gives players new opportunities — both in vanilla survival and in industrial modpacks — making it a truly powerful addition! In this overview, we’ll explain the advantages of this mod, show which storage items it adds, and how to use them effectively.

The mechanics are familiar, but the functionality is improved. Remember how the Ender Chest works? A player can store resources inside it from anywhere in the world — and even after dying, all contents remain safe and can be accessed from any other Ender Chest. It’s a convenient and well-thought-out system, often used on vanilla servers. This mod works the same way but with added features. We’ve included crafting recipes so you can understand how each item is made and how it changes depending on the materials used. Ender Storage 1.8.+ adds three new items, each with its own unique function.

This works like the backpacks found in many other mods. If you have mods like Trinkets installed, you’ll get an extra slot for carrying backpacks. You can store valuable items inside — for example, diamonds or emeralds found in mines and treasure chests. Even if you die, the contents can be recovered simply by crafting another Ender Backpack back at home. It doesn’t matter how you lost the items — in lava, by falling, or in battle — you’ll still be able to get them back by recreating the same backpack. The mechanic is identical to the vanilla Ender Chest system.

The backpack’s appearance depends on the color of wool used in crafting. You simply choose the color you prefer during crafting. However, the main color stays the same — only a small frame changes, visible on the player and in the inventory. The functionality remains unchanged: you get a certain number of slots to store different blocks and resources.

The Ender Chest is a more universal item in this mod. It allows you to store resources efficiently and use the full potential of this storage system. You can view the crafting recipe below, but the most important thing is that you can create different linked storage networks. Each chest has three colored panels on top, and by dyeing them in specific combinations, you can create unique channels. For example, if you dye all three panels red and store items inside, you’ll only be able to access them from another Ender Chest with the same exact color pattern.

This system gives you nearly limitless options — since three recolorable panels allow for countless combinations. However, you’ll need to remember your color codes, or you could lose access to your items if you forget the pattern. You can dedicate different chests to different purposes — one for resources, one for armor, one for rare artifacts, etc. The design looks vibrant and pleasant to use, making both storage and customization enjoyable.

The Ender Tank is another item in this mod, designed for liquid storage — ideal for industrial modpacks. You can connect various types of pipes, build transport systems for moving fluids, and access them from another linked tank, even in a different dimension. Check the crafting recipe below. Even if you’ve never used Ender Storage 1.8.+ before, you’ll quickly understand what materials are needed for crafting each item.

This mod gives players a massive advantage — now you can save important resources instantly in critical situations. It’s always smart to carry an Ender Backpack, which can be opened in one click (usually through a hotkey). Store your most valuable materials inside, and if you die, they’ll be safe. In the world, the Ender Chest helps you build entire storage networks using color-coded lids. Just remember your color combinations — there are millions of possibilities! Take full advantage of this mod’s features and enjoy the convenience it brings to your Minecraft experience.
