The vanilla mechanics of Minecraft offers us a long list of enchantments, with which we can increase armor protection, apply various effects, gain additional advantages in battle, see at night, and so on. But sometimes, you need to remove an effect from an armor or tool to use it elsewhere, or recycle, or discard the item itself. Unfortunately, we can’t do this in the standard version of Minecraft, because the mechanics don’t allow it, so we have to store such things, spend experience points again, or buy enchantment books from civilians.
This article is a review of the Dis-Enchanting Table mod, which adds a unique and very useful mechanic to Minecraft: from now on, you can remove enchantments from any items and drop them into an empty book to use later for other elements. To do this, the developer has added a separate block to perform all these actions. The system’s operation principle is very simply, and if you want to transfer some enchantments, but you failed to do it before, just install the Dis-Enchanting Table mod and see how it works. In this article, we’ve described and demonstrated all the mechanics in detail.
A new unique block, resembling the enchantment table, will be added to the game. It slightly differs from the original block and is intended for other purposes: to remove enchantments and throw them into books to be used later. It’s convenient and incredibly efficient. If you haven’t played with mods for a long time, then we are surprised, because the standard Minecraft mechanics are already «boring», to put it mildly. However, we aren’t so far away from «vanilla», so you can stay calm that Minecraft will change beyond recognition.
The new mechanics are very simple: you set up a new table for removing effects and put an item, which you need to remove the spell from. Also, don’t forget to take an empty book to transfer an enchantment into it. As soon as you confirm the operation, this effect will be removed from your item and transferred into the book. After that, you can re-apply new effects on the table in the vanilla game version. This system works with almost any effects available in Minecraft, although you can try it with other mods as well.
The item from the Dis-Enchanting Table has a beautiful, magical-style GUI interface: runes, colorful books, a few symbols, interspersed with emerald inserts. It was done «tastefully», as they say, and in a certain style. To craft the new item, you’ll need 4 obsidian, a lapis lazuli and 2 diamonds. A slightly different craft, but in general, it’s similar to the vanilla style. The only difference is that this block won’t have a book on top like the enchantment table from the original Minecraft does. We put both blocks side by side so that you can compare them and see the difference. Just take a look at the screenshot to appreciate the look of this block from the Dis-Enchanting Table.
The new mechanics from the DisEnchanting Table mod solve many problems and add new features for players that you might not even have dreamt of before. :
· If you accidentally put an effect on a sword, for example, a Netherite one, then you can quickly remove it using the Dis-Enchanting Table.;
· If you’ve got a negative effect when creating new enchantments and using the table, then you can use the new table to simply remove all the effects and try to apply new ones again;
· If the player has a lot of experience, he can apply an effect and intercross them, then remove and save everything in books using the new table, and after that sell it to third-party players on the server.
Even though you can buy most enchantment books from civilians, even in vanilla Minecraft, there are several effects that can’t be obtained this way. So, if you have several mods for third-party enchantments installed, then there is a wide range of actions. The Dis-Enchanting Table will help you with this, as it makes it possible to rearrange effects, save them, return them into a book, and so on. The new mechanics are very interesting and unusual, although it’s very strange that the Mojang developers didn’t add anything like this in previous versions of the game.
As a result, we can say that the Dis-Enchanting Table add-on plays an important role in the entire mechanics of enchantment, both aesthetically – with such an elaborate item – and simply in terms of functionality – by adding so many new options. It’s a specialized one, but removal of effects in Minecraft solves many problems and adds many features. If you use any third-party mods to expand the enchantment mechanics, you can write about them in the comments and tell us about the basic principle of these add-ons.
