What decorative elements would you like to see in Minecraft? There are hundreds of mods for this game, each adding something interesting — but in most cases, it’s fairly standard and familiar stuff: paintings, lamps, chairs, sofas, dressers, and other common items. However, if you’d like to add something more unique and modern, there’s another mod that will delight tech enthusiasts! In this article, we’ll show you how computers and other peripherals look in Minecraft, how they fit in with other decorative mods, and how cool they can make your interiors look.
The Decorative Computers mod adds a small set of tech devices that can be used purely for decoration. They have no functionality — these are detailed, well-modeled objects that can’t be interacted with — but they look beautiful, realistic, and fit perfectly into the game’s overall aesthetic. They also blend well with furniture and decor items from other add-ons. In this review, we used the Re:Deco mod as a base for decoration, which adds a lot of furniture to Minecraft. Combined with it, the computer equipment looks very high-quality and stylish. We’ve included many screenshots for you, though it’s possible to decorate interiors even better than what you’ll see here!
The game adds 9 new items related to computers. These include monitors, system units, and laptops of different shapes. Some of them are modeled after MacBook and other Apple products, so fans of Apple devices will definitely appreciate the attention to detail. Each item is highly detailed, with nice textures and a 3D model that looks great from all angles. Some even imitate activity on the screen — like running programs or operations — though they are static textures without any animation.
You’ll find compact and stylish laptops, several thick and flat monitors, and desktop towers. They can be placed next to each other to create full computer setups. How you arrange and combine them is up to you. Check out the screenshots — there are setups with multiple monitors and computers on desks, as if someone is gaming, browsing the web, or chatting online. It looks very realistic! And if you choose matching furniture and decor, the result can be amazing. Of course, computers and laptops will look strange in medieval settings, so they’re best suited for modern interiors, right?
Items from the Decorative Computers mod cannot be crafted — they can only be obtained in Creative Mode. That’s the only drawback. Most likely, the author chose this approach because there aren’t appropriate materials in the vanilla game to justify crafting recipes. While it could make sense in industrial modpacks, in vanilla Minecraft only a few metals exist, and that’s not enough. This mod is perfect for large decorative servers, where such items don’t affect gameplay balance but greatly enhance the atmosphere. Even if your world is fantasy-themed, you can still use it to add a touch of modern style to your interiors.
The computer equipment can be placed on most furniture from other mods. For example, in our setup, we used tables and cabinets from other decorative add-ons, and the two mods fit together perfectly. Add paintings, flowers, lamps, and other small details — and you can recreate your real-life room or build a cozy in-game home. Looks cool, doesn’t it? And even though the number of tech-themed items is small, you can still decorate any modern-style room beautifully with these 9 items.
In conclusion, the Decorative Computers add-on offers bright, detailed objects that fit perfectly into Minecraft’s world and look great in any interior. It’s recommended to combine it with other decorative mods that add furniture — at least tables, chairs, cabinets, and shelves. The more furniture options you have, the more creatively you can arrange your tech setups. The possibilities are endless! Just imagine the amazing offices you could create — and even record cinematic flythroughs or stylish videos for YouTube or other platforms, all in the Minecraft aesthetic…
