In Minecraft, just like in many large mods, there is an internal analytics system that collects data on gathered elements, blocks, completed tasks, and actions — offering players many opportunities that encourage them to keep doing things. For example, many players play only for the achievements, trying to complete as many actions as possible and unlock all goals. Others prefer to complete the game as fast as possible, doing speedrun-style playthroughs. But there are other ways to use this data, and in this article we’ll tell you about one such mod.
The Completionist's Index add-on adds a statistics and item list feature, tracking everything you’ve collected. It includes all possible blocks, items, and objects — both from vanilla survival and other mods. Most of the data is detected automatically. This tool was developed by Fuzs, and nearly all his mods feature advanced settings. Here too, some settings can be changed, though there aren’t many — the main focus of the mod is something else: detailed information about collected elements in a convenient menu accessed via a dedicated button. Throughout survival gameplay, a player constantly mines, explores different biomes, collects blocks and resources, and obtains unique artifacts. After a while, it becomes difficult to remember where you’ve been and what you’ve encountered — even though vanilla Minecraft contains tons of structures, biomes, dimensions, mobs, and items. Often, some elements are never interacted with simply because players never come across them. That’s where this mod’s functionality helps. It provides you with a statistics menu that tracks a complete list of items, blocks, and elements you've discovered.
For example, if you find a spawner, it will automatically be recorded in the book. The same applies to items like elytra, flint and steel, tools, and more. But in vanilla Minecraft, there are hundreds of items, and many are rarely reached. After installing Completionist's Index, you’ll have a dedicated book. It can appear in the main menu (when pressing Esc) or next to the recipe book — all configurable in the settings, where you can choose where the tab appears. For almost every mod, the system will generate stats and track them automatically throughout your entire survival gameplay.
Inside this book, you’ll find many sections, for example, for vanilla survival and individual mods. In our screenshot, you can see how many tabs are available per section. But that’s only around 10% of the mods installed in the pack, so data is only tracked for a small number of mods. Opening any section will show detailed data on collected blocks and items. If you’ve interacted with an item, there will be a checkmark next to it; if not, the box will be empty. This kind of statistic motivates players to “complete everything” by collecting all items listed.
Benefits of Completionist's Index:
· Convenient sections. The system automatically organizes data, and you just need to open the book to view it;
· Beautiful interface. The developer put great effort into creating an appealing and user-friendly GUI interface;
· Available in multiple languages, depending on the game’s language settings;
· Modpack awareness. If you have other add-ons installed, the system will automatically include statistics for them (when supported);
· Customization. In the mod settings, you can choose where the button appears to open this menu. By default, it shows up in the settings menu, but it can be moved next to the recipe book icon;
· Live data updates. As soon as you discover a new block, it’s immediately added to the list;
· Motivation for players. With this feature, players gain extra motivation to find all items and blocks in order to complete each section of the game. It’s no longer just about achievements.
This is quite a solid mod for Minecraft, offering lots of interesting features for players. It’s especially useful for large projects with hundreds of players, giving them a reason to gather items and blocks. For example, some elements are limited on the map (spawners, nether stars, elytra, etc.), so players will have to trade and complete the final challenges. Try adding this mod to your project or a world where you play with friends to gain extra motivation to visit all possible structures, dungeons, and biomes — and enjoy the game process even more.
