An extremely large and very radioactive mod for those who believe in the Technological Apocalypse. In addition to new items, ores, and mechanics, the mod also offers players a short prequel telling them about what’s going on.
Once upon a time, the Nuclear War was supposed to happen on the territory of the world. Civilizations collapsed, the world turned into ruins, and the only thing that still reminds of what happened are traces of the past. Our character is – the survivor. He wanders around the world, explores it, tries to fight radiation, and save the next human generations by making the world a safe place.
For the developers of the mod it doesn’t matter whether you’ll follow the suggested plot or go your own way. Anyway, on your journey you’ll definitely meet both new «old» structures, and bunkers, and radioactive emissions poisoning the ground and air for many blocks around.
As the plot suggests, people went down to bunkers to shelter from radiation. Now, these bunkers are scattered around the world, but they are no longer as safe as they used to be. Quite the contrary, they became the centers of radiation and danger, because something was born inside over the years of abandonment – something that even the world accustomed to any monsters has never seen before.
Bunkers – is a new large dungeon appearing in different parts of the map. You can find one by chance or request coordinates of the nearest bunker through the console. Despite their name, any bunker is an extremely dangerous place full of radiation, which poisons literally everything — rocks, items, and water.
Besides, new mobs hide in bunkers covered by darkness – Radioactive zombies. You’ll easily notice them in the dark by their special glow and screams of the Geiger counter running high. They also differ from their common counterparts in health points that are three times higher than those in the vanilla version, strength, and general ability not only to kill the player, but to poison them for long minutes as well.
Inside the bunkers, you’ll find both the most common vanilla items, such as beds or boxes, and complex traps, mechanisms, and even one large reactor, which isn’t safe to approach.
Players will find the bunkers useful, because inside you can find new ores in addition to loot. However, given that you need these ores to craft a chemical protection suit, which is almost a must for a bunker explorer, we get a vicious circle.
The mod adds three types of new Armor to the game, and each of them is primarily aimed at protecting against radiation and only after that – at protecting against damage. But actually, the armor that the mod offers is good enough even without this additional bonus.
Lead armor Is characterized by the features similar to iron. In fact, you craft it by combining the vanilla iron armor, leather, and a new block – lead plates – on the workbench.
Uranite armor is +2 better than the vanilla Netherite armor. It is crafted of new ore – uranite according to the standard crafting procedure.
Trinitite armor – is literally what you should strive for on your way through the game. To craft it, you should combine the Uranite Armor and Trinitite Crystals on the blacksmith’s table. Its features are as follows:
· Boots: +6 to armor, +7 to armor solidity
· Greave: +8 to armor, +7 to armor solidity
· Breastplate: +14 to armor, +7 to armor solidity
· Helmet: +6 to armor, +7 to armor solidity
All the armor offered by the mod is a multifunctional protection against radiation.
Weapons in the mod are represented by three new swords, as well as an axe and a pickaxe.
Machete – is a trophy weapon that you can’t craft but only find or knock out of mobs. But this is actually not a very good weapon with only +6 damage, so you can notice tangible benefits of a machete only at the very beginning of the game.
In addition to armor, you can use Uranite to craft an axe, a pickaxe, and the Uranite sword according to the standard crafting schemes. And if it’s up to you to decide about the tools – whether you need them or not, the sword must be on your must-have items list, because it has +10 damage at a minimum attack speed.
Trinitite sword, like homonymous armor, is crafted from Trinitite crystals and the Uranite sword on the blacksmith’s table. The Trinitite sword gives +12 damage and is the best weapon possible.
Geiger counter is not a weapon, but it will be much harder to survive in the radioactive world without it. Be sure to craft it as soon as you have the opportunity.
From time to time, you’ll find other unusual structures in the world, such as abandoned camps, towers, small houses or ruins. According to the mod lore, these are the traces of the foregone civilizations or even perhaps the traces of other survivors.
If you don’t want to use the information from the lore, just do what you usually do with random dungeons – there’s little loot inside, but it’s always a good idea to collect a few useful things.
Unlike the bunker, you can’t use the cheat console to find new dungeons, but there aren’t any problems with this – they spawn quite often, and you really have to try hard not to find at least one of them.
